Dijon Air-Fryer Salmon
Dijon Air-Fryer Salmon
For one approximately 0.6-lb salmon fillet
First successful piece was 0.605 lb — about 9.7 oz.
Ridiculously Easy!
Ingredients
- 1 Atlantic salmon fillet, about 0.6 lb / 9–10 oz, skin removed
- 1–2 tsp Dijon mustard, enough for a thin coating
- Onion powder, light sprinkle
- Black pepper, to taste
Directions: Pat the salmon dry. Spread a thin coating of Dijon over the top and sprinkle with onion powder and black pepper. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Leave the round crisper plate in the basket.
Air fry at 400°F for 9 minutes, then check the thickest part. My first 0.605-lb piece had some thinner sections ready at 9 minutes while the thick center wasn’t finished. So next time, remove any clearly finished thinner portion if necessary and return the thick portion for another 1–3 minutes, checking as you go. You’re aiming for 145°F in the thickest part. Then let it rest about 2 minutes.
🔒 Don’t Change This — And Here’s Why
Don’t judge doneness by the thin end of the fillet. Thickness matters more than the total weight. And don’t keep cooking the already-done portion while waiting for the center. Take the cooked part out and put the underdone portion back in.
